Adding a Walk in from the table plan

You may choose to record walk ins as bookings so that tables occupied by walk in customers don't show as available for last minute bookings. You can record a walk in on either the table plan or bookings grid view.

To add a walk in from the table plan, Select Plan from the bottom navigation bar on the EPOS.

If you have multiple areas, select the required area.

Click on the table that the customer will be sitting at. From the Table action menu, click the Walk in button.

The Walk in modal will display. The name of the booking will pre-populate with the "Walk in" pre-fix, followed by the current time.

You can simply click the green Add button, to add your Walk in booking. Alternatively, you can edit any of the details displayed on the Walk in modal:

  • Duration
  • Select a booking type
  • Edit the name of the Walk in
  • Add staff notes
  • Change the table number
  • Change the number of covers

When the Walkin booking is added, a tab for the booking will be opened in the background & the outline of the table will turn Blue to indicate this. The Red banner across the top of the table will indicate the time in which the table will be available next.

You can now open the tab from the Summary screen or through the Table action menu, whereby you will be able to add items as usual.

You can also add a Walk in from the Bookings grid view.
