Messages and device groups

Which messages a particular EPOS device will see, will depend on the device group it is in.

This article gives an overview of each type of message and the device groups it will appear on.


Food order ready
When a kitchen order ticket is marked ready on the kitchen screen, a food ready message is generated. These will be displayed on all devices.

Drinks order ready
When a bar order ticket is marked ready on the bar orders screen, a drinks ready message is generated. These will be displayed on any devices assigned to the "Roaming" device group.

Mains away
When a user sends a mains away message, this will be send to any iPads in the "kitchen" device group.

Print failure
Print failure messages are generated if an order fails to print for any reason, such as a lack of connectivity to the printer. These messages are displayed on all devices.

Custom messages
Custom messages are written by a user, who will select whether to send the message to all devices, or to a specific device group.

If you would like to see all messages on a particular iPad, regardless of the device group they are sent to, you can toggle the "Show All" button in the right had corner of the messages screen.

Note: by default the show all option will only be available for managers but as with all user roles this can be customised by requesting to or on your Telegram channel.
