The Product uploader makes it quick and easy to bulk upload new products to your EPOS. The upload is triggered from within the category you want to upload to and is linked to a specific product template where applicable.
While this may mean you need perform multiple uploads, it simplifies the process and minimises errors as:
- You will not need to enter values for any fields that are populated by your product template. For example, stock settings and measure sizes for the draught beer, or wine by the glass templates.
- The CSV template you download will contain the correct fields for the type of product you are uploading e.g. price fields for each measure of the product
- The products will be automatically uploaded to the correct category
To upload your products, go into your back office and locate the category you want to upload your products to. Then click the blue Upload products button, from the bottom of the page.
If you have multiple product templates linked to the category, you will be asked to select the template you want to use to upload your products.
Note: If there is only one product template, this will be selected automatically. If there isn't a linked product template, the download will contain all standard fields and no measure pricing (only base price)
You can then download the CSV template.
Note: You can use your own spreadsheet, but will need to manually map your fields to the fields in the system as the mappping stage.
Once you have populated your CSV, come back and press the Select file button. Locate your product list from your computer. You will then be prompted to check and make any necessary updates to the mapped columns.
Note: If you used the downloaded template, the columns should all be maped automatically. If you used your own spreadsheet of products, you will need to manually map each field that you want to import.
When you have checked or mapped your columns, click the blue Next button from the bottom of the Product uploader.
At the Confirm and Import screen, you can check your product imports.
If you have a long list of products, you can use the Search function in the top right of the screen, to search for a product.
The Status of the products will be displayed at the end of each Product row.
When you are ready to import, click the blue Import button from the bottom of the import screen.
You will then be prompted to confirm the number of products to be imported.
When imported, a Success message will display. Your products will be added in the background. Click the grey X in the top right, to close the screen.
Your imported products will be added to the category.
