You can send SMS messages to customers to keep them informed about the status of their booking and to send them a reminder as the booking approaches.
To configure SMS messages you first need to connect to Twilio.
After connecting to Twilio, select Setup > Bookings from the left hand navigation of your back office dashboard.
Click on the SMS notifications tab.
You can enable SMS notifications for the following booking updates:
- Booking received SMS to the customer
- Booking cancellation SMS to the customer
- Booking declined SMS to the customer
- Booking confirmation & modification SMS to the customer
When you enable a particular notification you will be able to enter the text for the message you would like to be sent to the customer.
Note: you can include dynamic text related to the booking, or insert a cancellation link using the tags listed at the top of the screen.
You can also enable booking reminder notifications & booking follow up notifications via SMS. In addition to setting the text for the message you would like to be sent, you will also need to specify when these messages should be sent:
- For a booking reminder SMS you will need to set how many hours before the booking you would like the SMS to be sent
- For a booking followup SMS you will need to set how many hours after the booking you would like the SMS to be sent
Press the blue Save button in the bottom right hand corner, to save your changes.
