Configuring ordering for delivery

After activating mobile ordering and linking your Stripe account you can set home delivery ordering.

To do this, toggle Enable Delivery on the Delivery tab.

You will see the URL that can be used instead of your main mobile ordering URL, if you want to take a customer to your menu with Delivery as the default order option.

Note: If a customer visits your main mobile ordering URL they will still be able to browse your menu and place an order, but they will need to select Delivery prior to being able to submit their order.

You can then configure how you operate your delivery service and the options you would like to offer to your customers.

Label - You can use this to customise the label your customers will see when selecting delivery vs another delivery method (e.g. table service or click & collect)

Description - You can provide a description that your customers will see when delivery is selected as the delivery method

Minimum order amount - If you want to you can specify a minimum order value for customers ordering for delivery

Show order notes box - Turn this on if you would like customer to be able to add notes to their order, such as dietary requirements or delivery instructions

Notes placeholder - This is the placeholder text that will appear in the notes box, if enabled

Waiting time (mins): This is the length of time a customer will need to wait before their order will be delivered. If you use delivery slots, this will determine the first slot that a customer is able to select.

Waiting time (text): This is text that will be displayed to the customer to communicate the expected wait time. This should line up with the time in "Waiting time (mins)", but can present additional info if you wish e.g. "Your order will be with you in 45 minutes to an hour"

Allow ordering when closed: Ticking this will allow customers to order outside of your opening hours. This would usually be used in combination with delivery slots.

If you wish to use multiple delivery areas with different fees, you will need to set your delivery areas & upload your files in the back office.

Require customer name - By turning this on you can capture the customer's name as part of the ordering process.

Require phone number: Ticking this will enforce a customer to enter a phone number, which can be handy if you need to contact them about their order.

Charge for delivery: tick this if you want to charge for delivery

Delivery fee: Set this to your delivery fee

Delivery fee label: This is a text label for your delivery fee e.g. delivery fee or delivery

Enable delivery slots: Tick here if you would like your customers to be able to select a time slot in which to have their items delivered

Time slot duration: This is the length in minutes of each time slot

Max days ahead: This specifies how many days ahead a customer can select a slot for. If they can only order for the same day then leave this as zero.

Max orders per slot: This determines the maximum number of orders that can be placed in a given slot. There is no maximum, setting it to 0 will allow unlimited orders per slot.

Service times

By default your delivery service times will use the mobile ordering times on the Venue details tab.

If you want to set specific times for delivery service that are different to your overall mobile ordering times you can select the times to use from the Delivery service times dropdown.

If you haven't already set your service times, you can create them by clicking the blue Add new times button.

To add your service times, return back to the Configure Delivery tab & scroll down to Service times.

Click in the Delivery service times dropdown box & select the service times you want to use for delivery.

You may also want to configure click & collect or table service ordering.
