Creating option sets

An option set is a set of options that you want to attach to one or more products e.g. pizza toppings, or a choice of sides.

Option sets are also used to categorise items for meal deal promotions. For example a 2-course meal deal could link to a starters option set and a mains option set.

Note: Before you create your option sets, you need to ensure you have created products for any options that you want to adjust pricing or stock.

To create your option sets, go to Products > Product Options from your back office dashboard.

You will see a list of any existing option sets, and a button to add a new option set.

Click Add a new option set.

Type the name of your new option set, then click on the blue + button on the right hand side.

Your new option set will display at the bottom of the list of your current option sets.

To the right of the screen, the details section will display, allowing you to add the necessary options.

Here you can add a Display name, that will be displayed on customer facing apps.

You can then add the options. For options that have a price or impact stock, you will need to link these to an existing product.

If the product you are adding to the option set has measure, a second dropdown will display for you to select which measure you would like to be included in the option set.

Note: If you would like the option set to include more than one measure, you can add new option rows for the same product and select the additional measures.

For each option you can either use the price of the product or you can choose to override the price.

Note: If you are creating your option set for a meal deal, any override prices will be ignored.

For products you have created specifically as options, you will likely have already set the correct price, but for products that appear elsewhere on your menu, such as sides, you may want to attach a different price to the option than the price of that product when purchased on its own.

Once you are happy with the details entered, press the + button on the right-hand side to add the option and continue to add the other options.

Where you are adding options that don't impact price or stock, you can just enter the name of the option without linking it to a product e.g. cooking options.

Note: For meal deals, only options linked to products will be used.

If you need to re-order your options, click the grey arrow icon to drag & drop your option set into the desired order.

You can now link your option set to the products that will prompt for the options, or add them to a meal deal promotion.

Searching

If you have a long list of product options, you can use the Search function - identified by the grey magnifying icon at the top of the Product option list - to quickly locate a product option.

Start typing the name of the option, and any product options that contain those letters will display.
