Reporting category

There may be occasions where you will want a product to appear in a different category in your reports, to the category it appears under on your till. Or you may have a product that appears in two categories on your till and you want to select which of those it should appear under for reports.

To address both of these scenarios you can use the reporting category field.

When you create a new product the reporting category will initially be set to the category you create the product in.

If you want the product to appear in a different category in reports, just click in the reporting category field to change this to the category you would like the product to appear in.

In the below example, the "Double G&T" product will now be in the "Popular Drinks" category on the EPOS screen, but will show in the "Gin" category in reports.
